The Indiana State Police (ISP) is the statewide law enforcement agency for the state of Indiana. The ISP was established in 1933 and is headquartered in Indianapolis. The ISP is responsible for enforcing all state laws and providing law enforcement services to the citizens of Indiana. The ISP employs over 1,000 sworn officers and has jurisdiction over all 92 counties in Indiana.
The ISP is divided into five districts: North, South, East, West, and Central. Each district is commanded by a colonel and is responsible for providing law enforcement services to the counties within its district. The ISP also has a number of specialized units, including the Indiana State Police SWAT Team, the Indiana State Police Aviation Section, and the Indiana State Police K-9 Unit.
